How we handle your data
Last updated: January 2024
Look, we're not gonna sugarcoat this or bury you in legal jargon. At Onyx Vexen Quintho, we take your privacy seriously because, honestly, we'd want the same respect if the roles were flipped. We collect info, sure, but there's a reason for it and we're gonna be straight with you about what that is.
When you reach out to us for architectural domain consultations or planning services, we'll ask for some basic stuff - your name, email, phone number, and the address of the property you're working with. Sometimes we need to know specifics about your project like square footage, zoning info, or building specs. It's not like we're being nosy; we genuinely can't help plan your urban development without knowing what we're working with.
Our website also picks up some technical data like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visit. Standard internet stuff that helps us figure out if our site's actually working properly or if something's broken.
Your data stays with our team unless we legally have to share it with city planning departments or building authorities. Sometimes we work with engineering consultants or surveyors on larger projects, and we'll share relevant info with them - but only what's necessary for the job.
You can ask us what info we've got on file, request corrections, or tell us to delete it altogether. Just shoot us an email and we'll sort it out. Under Canadian privacy laws, you've got control over your personal data.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are little bits of code that remember if you've visited before and help us understand how people navigate our site. You can disable them in your browser settings if they bother you, though some features might not work as smoothly.
We don't use those creepy tracking pixels that follow you around the internet. That's overkill for an architectural practice based in Toronto.
We've got SSL encryption on our website and secure servers for storing client files. Our team signs confidentiality agreements, and we limit access to sensitive information on a need-to-know basis. Project files are backed up regularly but kept behind password protection.
That said, no system's completely bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and work to fix it.
We use a few external services to keep things running - payment processors for invoicing, cloud storage for architectural drawings, and email platforms for communications. These companies have their own privacy policies, and we've vetted them to make sure they're legit and secure.
If you click a link that takes you off our site, you're on your own in terms of their privacy practices. We can't control what other websites do.
Privacy laws change, and sometimes our practices evolve too. If we make significant updates to this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. For major changes, we might shoot you an email if we've got your contact info on file.
It's worth checking back here occasionally if you're curious about how we're handling things.
If something in here doesn't make sense or you've got concerns about how we're using your information, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd rather have a conversation than leave you wondering.
